KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today reiterated the need for mass vaccination and strict observance of Covid safety protocol to avert the fresh surge of Corona infection. He appealed to the people to continue the use of masks and observance of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) to overcome the resurgence of the Covid.

The Deputy Commissioner was addressing a presser here in his office chamber.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the positivity rate in Kishtwar district has declined to 0.4% which is a good sign. He said that out of 1831 positive cases reported in the second surge, 1748 have recovered till date and only 3 patients are admitted in hospital.

Regarding vaccination, the Deputy Commissioner said that 95% of the population in 45 year and above age group and  26%  of 18-44 year people have been vaccinated so far in the district.  He said Test, Trace, Treat strategy needs to be continued along with Tikka.
