Sets timeline for setting up of Panchayat level isolation centres

KISHTWAR: To ensure early establishment of Covid Care Centres in all Panchayats of the district, Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Ashok Sharma, today set timeline for creating the much needed facility for management of Corona cases in the rural areas.

The DC was reviewing the covid control and management measures at a meeting of the concerned officers held here at the conference Hall DC office Complex.

The meeting was attended by SDM Chatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar; ; Chief Medical Officer, Dr R S Manhas; ASP Rajinder Singh ; ACR, Akhter Hussain Qazi; ACD, Kishore Singh Katoch; SDM Paddar, Varunjeet Singh Charak besides all the concerned Tehsildars and BDOs  of the District. A slew of directions were passed to the concerned   to strengthen the Covid containment efforts in the District.

The DC the officers present in the meeting to put in their  best efforts and work round-the-clock to ensure  a strong rapid response mechanism in order to deal with the emerging situation, particularly in the rural areas. He directed the Tehsildars and BDOs to work in coordination with Health Department to scale-up the vaccination, testing and establishment of Covid Care Centres established in the Panchayats.

He asked  Sub -Divisional Magistrates to appoint Tehsildars and the BDOs as the Nodal officers to look after the vaccination and testing  in the areas with high positivity rate. He further directed to set vaccination & testing targets for Tehsildars and BDOs.

While reviewing the tehsil-wise status of preparations being made to contain the spread of Corona virus, DC Kishtwar  set timeline for establishment of 5-bedded Covid Care Centres  in every Panchayat across the District.

He directed for prioritizing far flung areas for, besides ensuring availability of all requisite facilities for the patients including proper ventilation, beds, oxygen support, necessary medical kits, linkage with nearest healthcare centres, referral linkage with dedicated Covid health centres & hospitals, availability of tele-medicine facilities, power backup and other basic facilities.

“As the government is decentralizing the Covid management, which is essential for effective and efficient public healthcare system, our focus should be on strengthening primary health care in rural areas”, said  the DC Kishtwar.

He further asked ACD Kishtwar to evolve  a comprehensive mechanism for monitoring the functioning of Covid care centres in Panchayats.

There is a need to laying special stress on   training of ASHA and Anganwadi workers, besides mobilizing PRIs & volunteers and utilizing funds for effective management of Covid care centres  at Panchayat level, the DC said. He directed the CMO to proactively engage in functioning of these Covid care facilities.
