Establishment of 5 bedded COVID care centres at Panchayat level in full swing: DC Kishtwar

KISHTWAR: Amid the 2nd wave of the COVID19, for the first time due to the strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs, the   positivity rate has  started to decline in  the district, stated Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today here during a press briefing.

On the occasion, the DC said that the situation has  started to improve, however people have to stick to Covid-19 SOPs for further improvement in the situation.

With regard to availability of Oxygen in the district, the DC informed that 361 filled cylinders are available in the district hospital and the  supply is being continuously monitored by the concerned.

Giving details on the positive cases in home isolation and their care, the DC said that the 499 Medical kits containing essential medicines have been provided to patients at home isolation besides proper follow up of positive patients is a routine.

The DC further informed that at presently there are 388 active positive cases  in the district whereas 604 patients have  recovered so far.

He said that aggressive testing mechanisms have been placed which includes RTPCR @ 50-100 per day and RAT @700-800 per day  in the district to detect the positive patients. He reiterated that district administration has enhanced infrastructure with better healthcare facilities in the district to save the lives of people.

In order to strengthen Covid care and isolation  facilities in rural areas, the work of establishing the  Covid care center with a capacity of 5 beds with one oxygen supported bed at every Panchayat is going on at the war footing basis informed the DC.

About 67% of the population above 45 years of age have been vaccinated and the left out population will be inoculated in a sweep mode at panchayat level ,he added.

He appealed to people for the cooperation and urged for sticking to the precautionary measures for containment of the disease. He advised people to strictly follow the SOPs and guidelines issued by the administration so that spread of this disease is curtailed and added that by collective efforts we will overcome this situation.
