Takes stock of developmental works, flood damage, assures comprehensive relief
JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Dr Rakesh Minhas met residents and inspected developmental infrastructure works in Pargwal area today. He also assessed flood damage while delivering relief material to affected families. He assured reconstruction plan for damage to public infrastructure.
During the public meetings held at Pargwal, Gurha Manhasa and Haripur Kona with MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat also present, detailed discussions and deliberations were held. The meeting also provided a platform for direct dialogue between officials and the residents.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Minhas reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to sustainable development and systematic recovery.
The public raised concerns about damaged roads and bridges that have disrupted connectivity; need for enhanced healthcare facilities, restoration of interrupted water supply system, while demanding for new bore wells.
Beyond the public meeting, Dr Minhas conducted a detailed ground assessment of flood damage across the tehsil. He inspected the construction status of the Indri Pattan Bridge and assured early resumption of its construction work. He also visited several flood-affected villages to review recovery needs. The Deputy Commissioner also prioritised assessment of essential supply chain and relief distribution mechanism.
The officers present included Additional Deputy Commissioner Ansuya Jamwal, Sub Divisional Magistrate Satish Sharma, Tehsildar Manjeet Singh and other district officers.
