DC Doda reviews damage assessment process post heavy rainfall

DODA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Harvinder Singh today chaired a meeting to review the assessment of damages caused by recent rains in the district.

During the meeting, the DC assessed the condition of partially, severely, and fully damaged houses across the district. The meeting was attended by ADDC Roshan Lal; ADC Anil Kumar Thakur; ACR Ashraf Pervez; ACD Din Mohammad Afaqi; Deputy Director Employment and Counselling Centre Rafiq Ahmed Jaral, Accounts Officer and other concerned stakeholders.

The DC also interacted virtually with ADC Bhaderwah Sunil Bhutyal and Tehsildars of Doda, Kahra, Kastigarh, Bhagwah, Barath Bagula, Dessa, Mohalla, Assar, Thathri, Bhalla, Bhaderwah, Chilly Pingal and Chirralla to review the damages caused by the heavy rainfall.

He directed all Tehsildars to provide accurate data and information about the damages. He further instructed them to collect photographs of damaged houses and maintain complete records for accurate estimation.

The meeting also reviewed the scale of damages to roads. The DC directed to close vulnerable roads, especially the Paddri road, for public transport.

The DC further interacted virtually with BDOs of Bhaderwah, Bhellessa, Changa, Chilly Pingal, Chirralla and Marmat blocks. The main purpose of the interaction was to review restoration works under MGNREGA. He directed the ACD to ensure proper estimation of bridges and culverts washed away due to the heavy rain and to prepare complete data.

The DC emphasized that Tehsildars of the district have the authority to finalize the assessment of damages. He also directed ADC Bhaderwah to ensure proper water supply in the area.

The DC concluded that teams of concerned officers and officials will be deputed to the affected areas for on-ground assessment of damages caused by the heavy rainfall.
