DC Budgam reviews progress on Digitisation of Revenue Records in District

Focus on enhancing transparency and efficiency in Land Records Management

BUDGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat, today chaired a meeting to review the progress of digitisation of revenue records across all tehsils of the district. 

The meeting, held at the DC Office Complex, was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Budgam, NT Headquarters, and other concerned revenue officials.

During the meeting, a comprehensive review of the digitisation process was carried out.  It was observed that the digitisation of revenue records is being undertaken to ensure greater transparency, accuracy, and efficiency in land records management. 

The DC assessed the progress achieved so far and reviewed tehsil-wise status of digitisation across the district.

He emphasized that complete digitisation of revenue records is essential for creating a reliable and accessible digital land database. 

The DC highlighted the need for maintaining accuracy, consistency, and integrity of digitised records to avoid discrepancies and ensure long-term sustainability of the system. He said that digitisation of land records will significantly contribute towards minimizing land-related disputes, improving ease of access for citizens, and strengthening overall governance. 

The DC also stressed that all historical and current revenue records must be digitised in a time-bound manner. He directed the concerned officers to expedite the remaining digitisation work and ensure that proper verification and validation mechanisms are put in place before finalisation of records. 

The DC called for regular monitoring and review of progress were advised to ensure adherence to set timelines.

He directed for coordination among field functionaries and technical teams must be strengthened to address challenges arising during the digitisation process. 

The DC focused on capacity building and handholding of revenue staff for effective implementation of the initiative. He directed concerned officers  to ensure completion of the digitisation exercise at the earliest, with a focus on accuracy, transparency, and public convenience.
