Inspects progress at New Bus Adda Project Chadoora
BUDGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, today chaired a Public Darbar at Town Hall Chadoora, where he met and interacted with multiple delegations from Chadoora town and adjoining areas, listened to their grievances, and assured timely redressal of genuine demands.
Delegations included representatives from the Traders and Shopkeepers Association Chadoora, Civil Society Gowherpora, as well as local groups from Buchroo, Roopora, Namtehal, Shovepora, Doien, Brenwar, Chattergam, and Khanda.
During the public interaction, citizens raised key developmental concerns and put forth several demands including provision of quality drinking water in main town Chadoora, upgradation of healthcare facilities at SDH Chadoora, including 24×7 ambulance services, demarcation and development of Kunzwera Park, development of sports playfields at Nowbugh, Roopora, and Brenwar, establishment of a Mini-Secretariat at Chadoora, completion and handover of the NTPHC building at Gowherpora to the Health department, protection of government land at Gowherpora from encroachments and making Kunzwera Water Scheme Filtration Plant functional.
They also sought construction of retention walls along Nalah Shaliganga to prevent flood damage in Buchroo, establishment of a Netting Centre through NRLM at Doien, Chadoora, additional accommodation for Government High School Brenwar, tourism development of Hajin Brenwar to boost local economy, provision of ambulance services at PHC Brenwar, augmentation of High School infrastructure in Chattergam and completion of JJM schemes in Khanda.
While responding to the public concerns, DC assured that all genuine and critical issues raised will be taken up with concerned departments on a priority basis. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to responsive governance, participatory development, and inclusive infrastructure planning.
He said district administration is committed towards addressing every genuine issue in a time-bound manner.
Dr Bilal emphasised that public participation is key to good governance and assured that field visits and direct interaction with citizens will continue across the district.
“Every genuine concern raised today will be followed up with the concerned departments,” DC added.
He also assured that all ongoing projects will be monitored regularly to ensure timely completion.
Later, DC visited the site of the New Bus Adda Chadoora to assess the progress of the ongoing development work. He expressed satisfaction over the pace of work and emphasised the importance of completing the project early to tackle growing congestion in the town.
He stated that upon its completion, the New Bus Adda will significantly decongest Chadoora town and enhance commuter convenience.
DC also directed revenue authorities to immediately demarcate the alignment for connecting the bus adda with the Dawlatpora–Chadoora road, ensuring smooth vehicular access.
DC was accompanied by ADC Budgam, JD Planning Budgam, SDM Chadoora, and all other concerned district and sectoral officers.
