Directs officers to enhance enrollment under JJBY, SBY

BARAMULLA: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today chaired a review meeting in his office chamber to assess the progress and implementation of key financial inclusion schemes across the district. 

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer Baramulla, Nisar Ahmad; Lead District Manager Baramulla, Manzoor Ahmad Shiekh and other senior officers.

At the outset, the DC took a comprehensive review of the ongoing PM-JJBY (Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana) and PM-SBY (Suraksha Bima Yojana) schemes. 

The DC thoroughly examined the status of registrations, enrollments, beneficiary coverage, and the measures being taken to enhance the enrollment.

During the meeting, the DC also directed the officers to intensify preparations for the introduction of PM-SYM (Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan) scheme, which covers categories such as BOCW (Building and Other Construction Workers), handicraft artisans, and MNREGA workers.

Minga Sherpa stressed on the need to streamline the registration process and ensure seamless coordination among departments for effective reach and successful implementation.

The DC further instructed the concerned officers to conduct training and awareness sessions for eligible beneficiaries which must clearly explain the scheme features, contribution requirements, and long-term benefits.
