CUK’s Math deptt holds seminar

Srinagar: A one-day seminar on mathematics and its applications was organized in the Department of Mathematics, Central university of Kashmir (CUK) at Nowgam-I academic block here on Friday.

The seminar was a follow-up to the three-day workshop on “Algebra & Analysis” which concluded yesterday. Eminent Mathematicians from within and outside the State delivered their lectures on the theme, including Prof. M.A. Sofi of Central University of Kashmir, Prof. A.P. Singh of Central University of Rajasthan, Prof. G.P. Youvraj Ramanujan of Institute of Mathematical Chennai, Prof. N.M. Khan of Aligarh Muslim University and Dr. Sartaj Ul Hasan IIT Jammu.

During the seminar, about 50 research papers were presented by research scholars and faculty from the universities across the country.

Later in the day, valedictory function was held, which was chaired by Prof. Abdul Gani Director Research and Development.

Prof. Gani emphasized the importance of such events for the students, research scholars and faculty of the university, as it exposed them to the latest trends in their fields. He also promised that the university administration would continue to provide all the support to the Department of Mathematics in such endeavors in future as well.
