CUK VC inaugurates legal process outsourcing venture

Srinagar: Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir today inaugurated legal process outsourcing venture “Generis Global Legal Services.”

The venture has been started by, Mr Muhammad Arooj, a law graduate from CUK.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir termed the venture as a great initiative and wished it a success. Registrar, Prof. Fayaz A Nikka, Head and Dean, School of Legal Studies, Dr. Sheikh Showkat Hussain, former Head and Dean, School of Law, University of Kashmir, Prof. (Dr.) S.M Afzal Qadri, Director of Students Welfare, Dr. Syed Zahoor Geelani and the founder of the venture, Mr. Mohammad Arooj were also present on the occasion.

Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) is the industry in which in-house legal departments or organizations outsource legal work from areas where it is costly to perform, such as the United States or Europe to areas where it can be performed at a significantly low cost, primarily India. The venture will operate from Srinagar and Noida.
