JK reports 906 new positive cases, 284027 recovered so far
JAMMU: The Government on Friday informed that 906 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19),244 from Jammu division and 662 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 305772.
Also 17 COVID-19 deaths have been reported,09 from Jammu Division and 08 from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 1885 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 712 from Jammu Division and 1173 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 305772 positive cases, 17585 are Active Positive, 284027 have recovered and 4160have died; 2022in Jammu division and 2138 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 9083419test results available, 8777647 samples have been tested as negative till11th June, 2021.
Till date 2216384 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 70906 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 17585 in isolation and 135799in home surveillance. Besides, 1987934 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 67915 positive cases (including 156 cases reported today) with 2491Active Positive, 64615recovered (including 242cases recovered today), 809 deaths; Baramulla has 22584 positive cases (including 86 cases reported today)with 1877Active Positive, 20435recovered (including138 cases recovered today), 272 deaths; Budgam reported 21675positive cases (including92 cases reported today)with 1244 active positive cases, 20232 recovered (including 142cases recovered today), 199deaths; Pulwama has 14294 positive cases (including 63 cases reported today)with1317Active Positive, 12797recovered (including 99 cases recovered today)and 180 deaths; Kupwara has 13130 positive cases (including 74 cases reported today), 953 Active Positive, 12026recoveries (including 131 cases recovered today), 151deaths; Anantnag district has 15412 positive cases (including 54 cases reported today)with 923 Active Positive, 14298recovered (including 20 cases recovered today), 191 deaths; Bandipora has 8917 positive cases (including44 cases reported today), with382Active Positive and 8437 recoveries (including 55cases recovered today),98deaths; Ganderbal has 9234 positive cases (including 31cases reported today)with 534Active Positive, 8629 recoveries (including 97 cases recovered today)and71deaths; Kulgam has 10630 positive cases (including 53 cases reported today)with 1023 Active Positive, 9498recoveries (including120 cases recovered today)and 109 deaths while as Shopian has 5483 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today),369active positive cases, 5056 recoveries (including 129 cases recovered today)and58 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 51931 positive cases (including 53 cases reported today) with 2438 active positive cases, 48379recoveries (including 307 cases recovered today), 1114 deaths; Udhampur has 10966 positive cases (including 19cases reported today), 307active positive cases, 10528 recoveries (including53 cases recovered today)and131deaths; Rajouri has 10306 positive cases (including 39 cases reported today)with 632active positive, 9474recoveries (including 60 cases recovered today)and 200deaths; Doda has 6277 positive cases (including 21cases reported today)with1029Active positive, 5154recovered (including 17 cases recovered today)and 94deaths; Kathua has 9045 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today), 160 active positive cases, 8738recovered(including 09cases recovered today) and 147deaths; Kishtwar has 4217 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today)with 199 Active Positive, 3979 recoveries (including 24 cases recovered today)and39 deaths; Samba has 6964 positive cases (including 21 cases reported today)with 353 active positive cases, 6495 recoveries (including 56cases recovered today)and 116 deaths; Poonch has 5784 positive cases (including 43 cases reported today)with792active positive, 4910recoveries (including 134 cases recovered today)and 82 deaths; Rambanhas 5532 positive cases (including 18 cases reported today)with400 active positive cases, 5074 recoveries (including 45 cases recovered today)and 58 deaths while Reasi has 5476 positive (including 05 cases reported today)with 162 active positive cases, 5273 recoveries (including07 cases recovered today)and 41 deaths.
According to the bulletin, among the total 305772 positive cases in J&K, 21828have been reported as travelers while 283944as others.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin added that there are 2837 COVID dedicated beds, 2423 Isolation beds with 2113vacant beds and 414 ICU beds where 319 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 3353 COVID dedicated beds, 3074 Isolation beds where 2253 beds are vacant and 279 ICU beds where 225are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 6190 COVID dedicated beds, 5497 Isolation beds with 4366 beds vacant and 693 ICU beds with 544vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing allnecessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
The government has also started free tele-consultation general OPD services by Specialists/MBBS Doctors for the residents of J&K under National Tele-consultation Service. People can avail these services from Home by registering online on web portal https://esanjeevaniopd.in/. The services are available on Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. People can also download and install esanjeevani OPD app from google play store.
Besides, 24×7 Rapid Antigen Testing facility for COVID-19 has been started outside the emergency of GMC Hospital Jammu. The facility will be very useful for segregation of patients in emergency wing of GMC Jammu.
Meanwhile, a 24×7 COVID Control Room has been set up for redressal of the grievances related to COVID-19 positive patients admitted in the Associated Hospitals of Government Medical College, Jammu and Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Patients or attendants can call at 0191– 258 5444 (Control Room), Exchange: 0191-258 2626 / 258 5542 / 258 4290 /258 4291 / 258 4292 / 258 4293/ 258 4294 for assistance.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 meter from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene.
As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
The bulletin again explained that early detection of COVID-19 can prevent the spread of disease so we need to be responsible for the well-being of ourselves and everyone around us. “Not disclosing symptoms could put life of individuals and their families at risk. In case of symptoms like fever, cough and difficulty in breathing report early. Do not fear, call COVID-19 helpline numbers and seek medical advice”.
Advisory has further exhorted upon the people not to step out of home, unless absolutely necessary. “If you have to move out for unavoidable reasons, ensure that you wear a mask and practice social distancing, personal hygiene and frequent hand washing with soap and water.”
In case of any emergency people can avail free ambulance services 24×7 at their doorsteps by calling on toll-free number 108 while as pregnant women and sick infants can avail free ambulance services by dialing toll-free number 102.

The bulletin has informed that the Directorate of Indian Systems of Medicine, J&K is distributing AYUSH Medicines having immunity boosting, immuno-modulator, anti-oxidant, rejuvenator, anti-stress, metabolism regulator, anti-allergic, anti-pyretic, anti-tussives, bronchodilator, etc. properties during the COVID-19 pandemic. The department so far has provided medicine to 19.26 lakh people that include various frontline workers, senior citizens, PRIs, police/paramilitary personals and general masses. Moreover, preventive measures and Yoga therapies are also being advised to the people to take care of lifestyle/mental disorders so that physical and mental health is ensured during this pandemic.
Public is advised to strictly follow the advisories issued by the government from time to time and rely only on the information released by the government through the daily media bulletin to print and electronic media.
