COVID-19: J&K reports 193 fresh cases, no deaths in last 24 hours

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Friday witnessed 193 fresh positive cases taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,669 while no death was reported in the last 24 hours.

With no more deaths, the death toll in the UT stands at 4,459 and 193 fresh positive cases reported on Friday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 335,016.

Of the exact number of 335,016 cases, 210,286 are from Kashmir division and 124,730 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 193 new cases, 170 belong to Kashmir division while as 23 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 210,286 including 206,602 recoveries and 2,277 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 124,730 including 122,286 recoveries and 2,182 deaths

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,669 including 1,407 from Kashmir division and 262 from Jammu division.

With 105 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 328,888 which is 98.18 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 61 from Srinagar, 15 from Baramulla, 07 from Budgam, 05 from Pulwama, 43 from Kupwara, 05 from Anantnag, 11 from Bandipora, 24 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 23 from Jammu division include 06 from Jammu, 02 from Udhampur, 01 from Rajouri, 02 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 12 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities on Friday said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 49.

As per officials figures, 76,666 positive cases including 859 deaths and 74,217 recoveries are from Srinagar, 25,050 including 285 deaths and 24,450 recoveries are from Baramulla, 24,041 including 23,734 recoveries and 209 deaths are from Budgam, 15,570 including 15,328 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,651 including 166 deaths and 14,366 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,643 including 16,422 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,921 cases including 9,749 and 104 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,635 including 10,411 recoveries and 79 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,499 including 11,375 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,610 including 5,550 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 53,489 including 52,236 recoveries and 1,150 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,430 including 11,284 recoveries and 137 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,305 including 11,049 recoveries and 238 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,906 including 7,753 recoveries and 133 deaths are from Doda, 9,345 including 9,187 recoveries and 152 deaths are from Kathua, 7,162 including 7,032 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,821 including 4,776 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,507 including 6,394 recoveries and 98 deaths are from Poonch, 6,054 including 5,980 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 6,711 including 6,595 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 4,168,315 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 5,614 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,669 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 3,721,505 persons have completed the surveillance period and 435,041 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 17,086,195 samples are available. Out of 17,086,195 the number of samples tested negative stands at 16,751,179 while as 335,016 have tested positive, among them 1,669 persons are active, 328,888 persons have recovered and 4,459 persons have died.
