Concluding ceremony of Rashtriya Poshan Mah-2021 held at Anantnag

ANANTNAGThe district level concluding ceremony of the Rashtriya Poshan Maah-2021 was held today at Town Hall Anantnag, here. 

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag Dr. Piyush Singla graced the occasion as Chief Guest and the event witnessed the participation of District Programme Officer, ICDS, Peerzada Zahoor Ahmad, Child Development Project Officers, Supervisors, Angandawadi workers and other field functionaries of the department.

Addressing the gathering, the DC said that the use of technology and roll out of flagship schemes like Poshan Abhiyan etc have revolutionised the ICDS department. He remarked that these initiatives have reduced the cases of under/malnourishment to a considerable extent adding there is, however, need of more efforts on part of all stakeholders to realise the true benefits of these initiatives.

Dr Singla, on the occasion, lauded the efforts of the ICDS department for exemplary work in the Poshan Abhiyan programme which has resulted in improvement in various relevant indicators of the district. He exhorted on them to equip themselves with thorough technical knowledge so that the schemes are implemented with more success. 

Appreciating the efforts of the officials of the department for making tangible contributions during this year’s Rashtriya Poshan Mah, the DPO impressed upon them to work with added zeal and  commitment so the targets are achieved in time.

Key lectures highlighting the pillars, aims and objectives of the Poshan Abhiyan programme besides achievements made and issues being faced were delivered by various speakers and resource persons of the department.

During the programme, officials who had made outstanding contributions during Rashtriya Poshan Mah were felicitated with mementoes.

As many as 40 underweight and specially abled children who were earlier identified during last week of Rashtriya Poshan Mah were felicitated with Nutrition Kits.

Colorful cultural items featuring theme songs on Poshan Abhiyan, folk etc were also presented by the local artists on the occasion.
