KULGAM: Clashes erupted in Tarigam village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday after government forces launched searches in the area.
An eye witness said that youth from the area took to streets and clashed with forces after the search operation was launched.
Jammu and Kashmir police, Army’s Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are jointly carrying out the operation.
A police official said that the search operation was launched after receiving “specific inputs” about the presence of militants in the area.
