Handwara: Clashes broke out between the protesters and the government forces near the site of a gunfight in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.
Reports said that youth took to streets soon after the news of gunfight spread and pelted the forces deployed in the area with stones.
The forces responded by firing tear gas shells.
Meanwhile, a fresh exchange of gunfire is underway between the militants and the forces in Shatgund Qalamabad area.
