Weekly Block Diwas: DC listens to people’s issues at Ramban

RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, today presided over weekly block diwas here at Kowbagh, and listened to the people’s grievances. 

After a marathon three hour session, most of the issues were resolved on the spot and directions were passed to officers to take necessary follow-up action.  

DDC Members, Rakesh Thakur and Renuka Katoch;   Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal; ACD, Zameer Ahmed; Executive Engineers PWD and PMGSY and other senior officers of   different departments attended the event.

The DC gave a patient hearing to the issues, grievances and demands highlighted by the PRIs, deputations and individuals from various Panchayats including Seri, Sencha, Chanderkote, Sawni, Sildar, Pernote, Adhwa, Rajgarh and other adjoining areas. 

Responding to the demands, the DC said that the issue of collateral damages to link roads due to earth cutting for NH-44 four laning has already been taken up with the NHAI. He directed the ARTO to enforce fare for Sumos and other taxi cabs plying on link roads of the district, and take strict action against those resorting to violation of  rules and overcharging .  

Executive Engineers of PMGSY and PWD were directed to submit the list of traffic worthy roads completed by their respective departments, so that SRTC bus services are run on these routes. 

Meanwhile, the DC asked the concerned officers to take immediate note of the demands projected by the people for their redress in a time bound manner.

District and sectoral officers were also advised to ensure service counters of their respective departments at block diwas meetings, so that the public can reap the benefits of different government schemes.  

Earlier, the DDC members also addressed the participants and highlighted issues of urgent public importance for early resolution by the district administration.
