Block Diwas held at Hiller, Anantnag

ANANTNAG: Block Diwas was today held at Hiller, where Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Wani gave a patient hearing to the grievances put forth by the people.

During the Block Diwas, several people put forth their issues and the main grievances aired were regarding installation of electric poles, drainage of Lowermunda road, water availability issues in Ujroo, upgradation of middle school to high school, availability of staff in GMS Hiller, Gulab Bagh Gujar Basti road connectivity, submission of DPR for construction of bridge to R&B, leakages in PHE pipes, among others.

The ADDC stressed on time bound redressal of grievances.

He emphasized that Gram Sabha is a multi departmental forum and local needs must be taken into account while devising development plans so that they can be addressed. He said that execution of works as per the devised plan for the present fiscal is underway and people should hold social audits to ensure quality in the works being executed.

The ADDC appealed to PRIs to lead by example and ensure that works are being executed as per timeline.

The Block Diwas was attended by SDM Dooru, officials from various line departments, PRIs and members of the civil society.
