DC, officers, locals join live streaming of PM’s address
BANDIPORA: The District Administration Bandipora on Saturday celebrated the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda as part of the nationwide observance of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh.
A series of events were held across the district to honour the legendary tribal freedom fighter and highlight the cultural and historical significance of tribal communities.
The main district-level event was organised at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora, where Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, along with District Programme Officer ICDS Bandipora, Yaar Ali Khan; Assistant Commissioner Development Bandipora and officers from various line departments, and other officials joined the live streaming of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address.
As part of the nationwide observance, officers, officials and locals from Bandipora joined the live streaming of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address during the national celebrations held at Dediapada, Gujarat.
In Bandipora, the celebrations were organised in line with the district-wide schedule, with Nodal Officers, DMTs and BLMTs from Gurez, Tulail and Bakhtore joining the online event from Gurez, while District Officers, Nodal Officers, SMTs, BLMTs, VLMTs and locals from Bandipora, Bankoote, Arin and adjoining areas participated in the live streaming at the Meeting Hall of the Mini Secretariat.
All tribal village schools marked the occasion through cultural activities, as the Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry conducted awareness programmes with farmers in tribal areas.
On the occasion, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, SHGs and locals attended from designated locations across their zones, while students of Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostels and Eklavya Model Residential Schools held commemorative programmes at their hostels.
Special live streaming sessions under the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh were also organised at Seva Kendra Mastan Khopri (GHSS Dawar), Block Tulail, and High School Achoora Gurez, ensuring inclusive participation from remote tribal areas.
The District Administration Bandipora reiterated its commitment to honouring the legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, celebrating tribal identity, and strengthening welfare initiatives for tribal communities across the district.
