B2V3 culminates with multifarious activities in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL:  The phase 3rd of governments Back to Village programme concluded today here with people turning up in large numbers to seek redressal of their genuine developmental issues, grievances and demands.

The programme witnessed huge public participation and interactions, inaugurations of developmental works, laying of the foundation stone of new works, awareness programmes on welfare schemes, Gram Sabhas, distribution of certificates, sports kits, sports activities and public grievance redressal camps throughout the district.

District Development Commissioner (DDC), Shafqat Iqbal today visited Panchayat Halqa Kangan-A where he listened to the issues highlighted by the Sarpanch and general public.

He said that administration has taken keen interest to strengthen Panchayat Raj Institutions for ensuring holistic development in every nook and corner of the district and ensuring participatory development of the Panchayats by involving people from all walks of life in the planning and development process.

On the occasion DDC highlighted the benefits of various individual benefit oriented schemes and asked people to avail the benefits of the same.

He also urged people to conserve water bodies and highlighted the ill effects of polythene on our environment. He maintained that land is identified for the proper disposal of solid waste generated from the Kangan market and other areas of the sub-division.

Later, DDC also distributed Kissan Credit Cards, sports kits and pension booklets among the beneficiaries.

Throughout the program, the visiting officers were accompanied by officers from line departments to ensure proper understanding and recording of grievances and concerns among which most grievances were resolved on the spot and rest demands will be submitted to the Government for further action.
