Asiea Naqash lays foundation of Receiving Station at Verinag

ANANTNAG: Minister of State for Power, Asiea Naqash today laid the foundation stone of 1X10 MVA 33/11 KV receiving the station at Bonagund Verinag, under Prime Minister’s Development Plan (PMDP) Urban.

MLA Duru, Syed Farooq Indrabi was also present on the occasion.

The construction of said receiving station will be completed within a time period of six months and will benefit a population of around 52000 souls.

On the occasion, while addressing a public gathering both the leaders heard the grievances of the public and assured their quick redressal.

Speaking on the occasion, Asiea said that government is very keen in the overall development of the state. She added that government has launched hundreds of welfare schemes including the LadliBeti and State Marriage Assistance Schemes for the upliftment of the general public. She further said that under Marriage Assistance Scheme, this year an amount of Rs 10 Crore has been distributed among the beneficiaries and survey is being done for the left outs.

The Minister instructed the concerned to do the proper survey under the Marriage Assistance Scheme so that benefit goes to the deserving.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Dooru said that work on various projects is in progress and will be completed within the stipulated time period. He added that ATMs, wherever needed in the constituency will be installed in the near future.

Later, Asiea visited the Sub-district hospital at Verinag and took stock of the facilities and patient care available. The minister instructed the concerned to ensure proper sanitation and patient care in the hospital.
