Ashraf Mir, Tassaduq Mufti review status of Boulevard Road project

SRINAGAR: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Mohammad Ashraf Mir and Minister for Tourism Tassaduq Hussain Mufti today visited Boulevard road and reviewed the progress of ongoing construction of cycle track and walkway from Lake view park to Kralsangri on Boulevard road.

            On the occasion, the Ministers were accompanied by VC LAWDA, Director Tourism, Traffic Advisor to J&K, SE R&B, Exen R&B, officials from PDD, PHE and other concerned departments.

            Terming the project as a dream project for the Srinagar, Ashraf Mir said that this vital project holds a significant value as far as the tourism in Srinagar is concerned. This eco-friendly project will not only help in traffic decongestion but also adds to the beauty of Dal Lake once the project is completed.

            Tassaduq Mufti directed the executing agency to carry out the project with proper planning and in coordination with PDD and PHE so that no unnecessary hurdles are faced during its execution.

            Later, the Ministers also toured various areas around Dal Lake and Harwan and held discussions about various works that need to be done for the development of the area which witnesses high flow of tourists.

            Ashraf Mir directed the concerned officials to macadamize the area which has been identified for parking at Boulevard road. He asked them to construct the toilets in the parking space, repair the ghats wherever necessary and also directed them to install dustbins at various places around Dal Lake.

            On their visit to SKICC, the Ministers discussed the possibilities of development of additional parking space to lower the burden on SKICC during the VIP visits or the large-scale functions.

             On the occasion, various delegations of locals met the Ministers and appraised them about various issues in their concerned areas. After giving the patient hearing, the Ministers assured that all their genuine issues will be redressed at an earliest.
