SRINAGAR: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Anantnag has arrested one drug peddler at a checkpoint and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established at Achabal Shelipora road, arrested one notorious drug peddler. He has been identified as Mohd Yousf resident of Achabal and was shifted to Police Station Achabal where he remains in custody. 12 Codeine phosphate bottles have been seized by the officers.
Case FIR No. 40/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and initiated investigations in the matter.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
