Agriculture Department holds drive under “Mere policy Meray haath”

 ANANTNAG:Under the chairmanship of Director Agriculture, a virtual meeting was held for distribution of policy bonds under PMFBY at Dakbanglow Khanabal, here.  

The slogan of the meeting was ‘mere policy mery haath’ in which insurance policies under PMFBY were handed over to the farmers. 

Informing the chair, the District Agriculture Officer said that the department is committed to uplift the farmers’ community and in this regard different schemes are implemented in true sense in the district. 

The Director while virtually interacting with the beneficiaries advised them to take the benefits of the scheme in case of damage to crops and simultaneously called them for mass awareness of the said scheme to the rest of the farmers.

The Director further impressed upon the insurance companies for timely disbursement of money to policy holders in case of any damage to crops.

The Director also reviewed the developmental scenario of the agriculture and achievements achieved so far. 

While interacting with the media, the Chief Agriculture Officer said that the farmer has to pay a meager amount and most of the premium is being paid by the government, so every farmer must insure his crops for safety of his invested amount.

The   meeting was attended by large number of policy holders, Reliance insurance district head, progressive farmers and officials of Agriculture department.
