Inaugurates several Dev projects in Jammu City; Hails positive response of public

JAMMU: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor K. K. Sharma today inspected stalls of various departments in Citizen Services Mela organised under ‘My Town My Pride’ Program here at Parade Ground.

He was accompanied by Financial Commissioner Health, Atal Dulloo, Deputy Commissioner Jammu,  Sushma Chauhan, Mayor JMC,  Chander Mohan Gupta, Commissioner JMC, Avny Lawasa, Deputy Mayor JMC, Purnima Sharma and other concerned officers.

The Advisor along with a team of officers inspected the stalls set up by various departments to aware the public about the schemes of their respective departments and for registration of beneficiaries under various schemes.

The Advisor interacted with the staff at each stall and inquired about the facilities they provide to the public in the Mela. He asked the officials of various departments to register beneficiaries on the spot under the welfare schemes  so that people get benefits of Mela.

At a Counter of Revenue Department, the Advisor also distributed Domicile certificates, Caste Certificates among the applicants.

At the counter of Jammu Municipal Corporations he distributed loan cheques to the beneficiaries under PM Street Vendor Atamnirbhar Nidhi scheme, similarly the Advisor handed over Garah Parvesh Keys to the beneficiaries of PMAY-U scheme at the counter of Urban Local Bodies department.

Meanwhile, the Advisor laid the foundation stone for improvement of spectator stand at Parade ground Jammu and beautification of 4th bridge at Bhagwati Nagar.

He also inaugurated various development works/projects in Jammu City including Fountains at J P Chowk, Vivekananda Chowk and Gujjar Nagar Chowk.

Speaking on the occasion, the Advisor said that My Town My Pride programme initiative of the Government is aimed at to provide governance at the doorsteps of public in the urban areas on the pattern of the B2V.

“This is the first time that the UT Government has started such a program in urban areas which received positive response from the public” he said.   He also said that the government decided to organize Citizen Services Mela for providing better services to the public at a single point.
