SHOPIAN: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone today presided over a comprehensive review meeting to take stock of the progress under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and JKCIP here at the Mini Secretariat.
The meeting aimed to assess the progress of various ongoing initiatives and projects being implemented under various flagship programmes to boost the agricultural and allied sectors in the district.
While reviewing the sector-wise progress, ADDC emphasized the need for effective inter-departmental coordination and convergence of resources to ensure time-bound and result-oriented implementation of all components of HADP and JKCIP.
The ADDC highlighted that these programmes are designed to bring a transformative change in the agriculture ecosystem by integrating modern technologies, ensuring sustainable livelihood opportunities and enhancing farmer’s income through diversification and value addition.
He stressed upon the officers to strengthen the Krishi Kalyan Goshtis (KKGs) across all panchayats, ensuring the active participation of farmers, PRIs and extension workers.
The meeting also discussed issues related to infrastructure development, credit linkage, marketing of agri-produce and convergence of departmental resources under JKCIP. The ADDC assured full administrative support to remove bottlenecks and expedite implementation.
The meeting was attended by Chief Agriculture Officer, Lead District Manager, Area Marketing Officer, besides representatives from Fisheries, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry and other concerned.
