Deliberations focus on promoting transparency, integrity in working
KATHUA: As part of the ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), in collaboration with District Administration Kathua, today organised a sensitization workshop for Revenue Officers here at the DC Office Complex.
The ACB team comprising DySP Rajesh Sharma, Inspector Vikas Kant, Inspector Mohammad Sharif and Inspector Sudhir Sadotra briefed the participants on various facets of corruption.
The workshop aimed to promote integrity, transparency and accountability in public service. Officers from ACB delivered detailed presentations highlighting common acts of omission and commission by revenue functionaries whether deliberate, influenced or willful which are unethical, unlawful and constitute corrupt practices.
The ACB team also elaborated on frequent mistakes committed during the registration and attestation of Girdawari and mutation proceedings, besides other revenue-related processes, stressing the need to strictly follow the prescribed procedures and uphold sanctity of revenue records.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma administered the Integrity Pledge to all participants, calling for a collective resolve to work with honesty and fairness in public life.
The DC lauded ACB for organizing awareness session and urged the officers to adopt a proactive approach in ensuring transparency and vigilance at every level of administration. He emphasized that such awareness initiatives play a vital role in strengthening ethical fabric of governance and building public trust.
Among others present on the occasion were ADDC Surinder Mohan Sharma; ADC Vishavjeet Singh; ACD Akhil Sadotra; Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, Girdawars, Patwaris besides a large number of locals.
The event concluded with an interactive session during which participants shared field-level experiences and sought clarifications on procedural and ethical aspects to ensure error-free and transparent revenue administration.
