SRINAGAR: Former Jammu and Kashmir chief secretary Muhammad Iqbal Khanday passed away late last night at SKIMS Soura.
Reports said that 1978-batch IAS officer was suffering from cancer.
Khanday, who held several important positions in his career, was also principal secretary to the former chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.
A family member told Greater Kashmir that the funeral prayers for the deceased are tentatively fixed at 4 PM at his native Friends Colony Humhama.
“However, exact time will be announced after Zuhr prayers at 2 pm in the local masjid,” he said.
