KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today visited Higher Secondary School Nagri Malpora and interacted with the students and staff of the Higher Secondary which reopened after a gap of over 2 years period, following Covid-19 lockdown.
The DC was accorded rosy reception by the students, principal and the staff of the Higher Secondary. A parade was also held on the occasion.
The DC distributed flowers and chocolates among the students as a token of welcome. He also participated in the morning assembly.
In his address, the DC stressed upon the school administration to ensure that the first week of March shall be observed as ‘welcome school’, during which recreation and games shall be played.
The DC stressed the observation of Covid-19 SOPs in letter and spirit. He said the schools were opened after a long gap of 2 years and students should feel relaxed.
Imam Din was accompanied by Chief Education Officer (CEO), Kupwara, Abdul Hameed Fani.
Later, the CEO took the students to District Level Herbal Garden at Malpora where more than 100 medicinal plants are available for field visit.
Meanwhile, CEO visited various schools of the district which include Higher Secondary School (HSS) Hatmullah, HSS Boys Trehgam, Middle School (MS) Boys Hatmullah, UPS Hatmullah, M S Mugalpora, High School Gushi and PS Gund Reshi.
