SHOPIAN: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today presided over the weekly Block Diwas/ Youm-e-Block programme at BDO Office Gagron, here.
On the occasion the DDC met scores of deputations comprised of locals and PRIs and listened to their grievances.
The Block Diwas proceedings witnessed participation of locals from different parts of the block. The PRI members and locals projected various issues of public importance.
They demanded replacement of wooden damaged poles, verification of PMAY Urban houses, 14 FC work, portable drinking water facility, better road connectivity, boundary wall for school, construction of lanes and bylanes, installation of Transformers, besides other important public issues.
The DDC paid patient hearing and passed on the spot directions to the concerned officers for time bound redressal of the same.
With regard to the convenience of the people coming from the far-off places to participate in the Block Diwas, the DDC directed the officers to monitor the proceedings and ensure that the record of grievances are maintained for follow up action.
During the proceedings of Block Diwas a number of grievances/ applications were received, of which some feasible grievances were redressed on the spot.
Enroute, the DDC made inspection of the office of Assistant Labour Commissioner, Shopian and enquired about the cases registered under self- employment generation.
The Assistant Labour Commissioner said that no such case is pending in the department till date.
Among others, Assistant Commissioner, Rural Development, Hilal Ahmed Jeri, Tehsildar, Shopian, Fida Mohammad, Ex. Engineer, PDD, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Block Development Officers and other concerned were present.
