DC Ramban inspects Covid vaccination centres

 Leads drive to enforce wearing of face mask  

RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner, , Mussarat Islam today inspect the functioning of  Covid Vaccination Centres  in   Ramban town and reviewed the status of the ongoing vaccination drive. 

Keeping in view the threat of the possible second wave of COVID-19, the DC also led a drive to sensitize people about the importance of maintaining physical distance and wearing face masks, while venturing out to carry out their essential works.

Besides, inspecting New Type Public Health Centre, Govindpura, Maitra, the DC also attended a Gram Sabha in Panchayat Maitra which was held to discuss the Jal Jeevan Mission and Jal Shakti Abhyan. He highlighted the significance of both the programmes and urged the PRIs to involve general masses to implement the same on ground.

The DC urged the people to concentrate on rain water harvesting besides protection and preservation of water bodies to avoid shortage of potable water in near future.   

While interacting with the people, the DC discussed various suggestions to motivate the people for taking vaccination. He informed that the age-appropriate category for vaccination has been brought down to 45 years & above from earlier 60 years.   

The DC went around Maitra town and also inspected various shops. He asked the shopkeepers to ensure use of face masks by the customers  prior to allowing them inside, besides ensuring protective measures at their respective outlets.

The enforcement teams also realized fine from persons roaming without face masks in public places besides providing them face masks.
