Says ready to undergo quarantine for required period

SRINAGAR: Stuck in Dubai, Kashmiris especially the elderly persons who want to return to Valley have appealed the administration in Jammu and Kashmir to take steps to evacuate them to the Union Territory.

Talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Zahid Ahmad, one of the Kashmiri resident said that over 500 people especially elderly have been facing tremendous hardships in Dubai amid the ongoing COVID pandemic.

He said that a group of Kashmiris have although been taking care of these people, but, it’s better for them to reach Kashmir where they are ready to cooperate with the administration and undergo quarantine for 28 days.

Ahmad further stated that they have registered for evacuation, but have been told that they will undergo quarantine at Delhi. “We want the government to take people of Kashmir from Dubai to Kashmir directly, where these people will undergo quarantine for required period,” he said.

He appealed the administration to take steps in this regard and ensure that the people in Kashmir especially patients and elderly are evacuated at an earliest.
