Issues directions for accelerated & inclusive development in  Sub-division

BUDGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir khan today chaired a detailed review meeting to assess the status of developmental projects, sector-wise progress, and key public issues of Sub-Division Chadoora. 

Besides PO ICDS, JD planning , SDM Chadoora ,Officers from all line departments of concerned division participated in the meeting.

A detailed presentation was shown on overview of ongoing works, proposed projects, and challenges impacting implementation on the ground.

At the outset, a detailed administrative and developmental profile of the sub-division was also presented, highlighting its coverage in terms of tehsils, blocks, municipalities, and essential service institutions. 

The meeting reviewed sector-wise progress under key departments including PWD (R&B), PMGSY, PHE, PDD, Health, Education, and Urban Development, with a focus on physical and financial achievements, as well as project timelines.

Threadbare discussions were held on major infrastructure projects, particularly road connectivity, bridge construction, water supply schemes, power distribution systems, and urban infrastructure. 

The DC also reviewed the implementation of flagship schemes and externally aided projects to ensure that timelines are adhered to and quality standards are maintained.

Various public issues and demands were highlighted during the meeting, including the urgent need for repair and upgradation of roads and bridges, operationalization of the New Bus Adda at Chadoora, construction of a dedicated revenue complex, and improvement in traffic regulation within town areas. The need for strengthening healthcare infrastructure, including dialysis facilities at sub-district hospitals, was also emphasized.

Concerns related to protection works along River Jhelum and Doodh Ganga Nallah, augmentation of mobile connectivity in remote areas like Yousmarg, release of pending land compensation in PMGSY cases, and development of parking facilities at Charar-i-Sharief were also brought into focus. Issues related to illegal mineral extraction and environmental protection were discussed with seriousness.

Taking note of the issues and progress, the DC issued comprehensive directions, emphasizing that all departments must ensure timely completion of projects and remove bottlenecks through better coordination. He stressed that development works must be executed with a strong focus on quality, transparency, and accountability.

The DC directed that public-centric projects, especially those related to basic amenities like roads, healthcare, power, and water supply, should be prioritized. He emphasized that land acquisition and compensation cases must be resolved without delay to prevent project hindrances. 

He also called for strengthening monitoring mechanisms at the field level to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and as per specifications.

The DC underscored the importance of field visits, regular inspections, and real-time grievance redressal to ensure that public concerns are addressed promptly. He instructed departments to work in a coordinated manner, adopting a convergent approach to maximize impact and avoid duplication of efforts.

The DC stated that every department must adopt a mission-mode approach and ensure that no genuine public issue remains unattended. He further stressed that administrative efficiency and responsiveness are essential for building public trust.

He added that governance must translate into tangible outcomes for the people and that every project should reflect visible improvement in the quality of life of citizens. He emphasized that accountability at all levels will be strictly enforced to ensure delivery of results.

The meeting concluded with directions for regular follow-ups, periodic reviews, and submission of progress reports to maintain momentum and ensure holistic development across Sub-Division Chadoora.
