KATHUA: District administration Kathua today commenced the arrangements for the second phase of the Commemoration of 150 years of National Pride – ‘Vande Mataram’ to be observed from January 19 to January 26.
In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh Sharma chaired a meeting with stakeholder departments to formulate an action plan to encourage maximum public participation by organising rallies, debates, symposiums, cultural programmes and awareness activities while integrating ongoing departmental events with the campaign to achieve its intended objectives. He stressed that the activities shall reflect the spirit of unity, patriotism and national pride associated with Vande Mataram.
The concerned departments were asked to ensure coordinated implementation of the campaign across the district. “The ADCs and SDMs shall oversee and monitor the campaign in their respective sub-divisions to ensure effective outreach at the grassroots level,” the DC directed.
“All stakeholder departments including Education, Rural Development, Health, ICDS and Information shall actively disseminate information about the campaign and ensure the involvement of students, youth and community members at the grassroots level,’ he maintained.
The DC also directed the departments to upload details and document the activities on the dedicated campaign portal in a timely manner to facilitate monitoring and reporting.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, GM DIC, ADC, RTO, ACD and other district officers. ADC Basohli, ADC Billawar, SDM Hiranagar and SDM Bani joined the meeting virtually.
