DC Ramban flags off Five-Day Trekking Expedition to Patnitop

RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today flagged off a five-day Trekking Expedition from Ramban to Patnitop. The expedition has been organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports to promote adventure activities, physical fitness and youth engagement.

Chief Planning Officer Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather; District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jagdishraj Sharma and other senior officers were present on the occasion.  

Addressing the trekkers, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of adventure sports in building resilience, discipline and teamwork. He emphasized that such activities play a vital role in nurturing a healthy, active, and responsible generation. Advising the trekkers to make the most of the experience, he urged them to carry forward the values of teamwork, discipline and physical fitness in their daily lives.

Participants from six different zones of District Ramban are taking part in the trekking expedition, reflecting the district-wide reach of the initiative. The programme aims to encourage adventure sports, foster team spirit, and promote a culture of physical fitness and well-being among youth. It also provides young participants with an opportunity to explore the region’s natural landscape while developing leadership qualities and a strong sense of camaraderie.

The expedition was organized under the supervision of the District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Ramban and witnessed enthusiastic participation from young trekkers across the district. All necessary arrangements related to safety, coordination and guidance were ensured for the smooth conduct of the programme.
