BARAMULLA: In a moment of immense pride for the nation and Jammu and Kashmir, Nasir Aejaz Sufi of Baramulla emerged as a shining star as the Indian Boys’ Under-15 Volleyball Team recently secured a historic Bronze Medal at the ISF Under-15 World School Volleyball Championship in Shangluo, China.
This remarkable feat, achieved in the team’s maiden appearance under the banner of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), has placed Indian school volleyball on the global map.
Displaying exceptional skill, unyielding determination and outstanding team spirit, the Indian squad delivered commanding performances throughout the tournament, dominating the group stage and leaving a strong impression on the international stage.
Nasir’s journey from the courts of Baramulla to the world championship is a story of grit and dedication. Selected through rigorous national trials, he represents the growing strength of India’s grassroots sports system. His early training was nurtured by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, followed by intensive coaching at the national camp, which prepared him for elite international competition.
