DC Srinagar conducts branch-wise review of Bank performance under various Credit Linked Government Schemes

Emphasizes expeditious sanctioning of eligible cases, urges bankers to facilitate common public in taking timely benefits through such schemes

SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo Thursday chaired a comprehensive meeting with branch heads of various Banks hereĀ  to review and expedite the sanctioning of cases approved by multiple District Level Implementation Committees (DLIC) under various Credit Linked schemes of the Govt. including HADP, Mission YUVA, APY, PMJJBY, PMJSY, Agri Credit schemes etc.

He also assessed the progress of Banks under various Financial Inclusion schemes in the district.

At the outset, DC took a branch-wise review of the banks and evaluated their performance in sanctioning of cases approved by the District Level Implementation Committees under various credit linked schemes of the government.

On the occasion, DC instructed the Banks to ensure the swift sanctioning and disbursement of credit facility to the eligible beneficiaries by strictly adhering to the set timelines.

Labroo emphasized the need to minimize the gap between DLIC-approved and bank-sanctioned cases and instructed banks to accelerate disbursement processes to facilitate the eligible beneficiaries in the district. He also urged banks to provide proper handholding and support to the common public and help them in taking timely benefits of the credit linked schemes of the government.

During the meeting, DC also reviewed the progress of Banks under various Financial Inclusion schemes including Atal pension Yojna (APY), PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) in the district.

He stressed upon them to sanction & disburse benefits to eligible beneficiaries in a time bound manner and work towards saturating all government-sponsored Financial Inclusion schemes in the district so that the target population is benefitted. He urged the Bankers to proactively intensify outreach efforts and maximize enrolments under these schemes.

DC asked the bankers to prioritize the Mission YUVA & HADP initiative aimed at empowering youth through self-employment.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Rifat Aftab Qureshi; Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar; General Manger DIC, Hamida Akhtar; Zonal Head Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Layek Ahmad Jan; LDM (Banks), Nilofer Jan, officers of various line departments, Managers of various Bank Branches in the district and other concerned.
