PULWAMA: Three young men were admitted to the district hospital Pulwama with injuries. Though all the three are stated to be stable, two have been referred to Srinagar hospitals and one is being locally treated, hospital sources said.

Hospital sources said all the three are from Drabgam village in Pulwama. One of them was identified as Waqar Ahmad Mir, who has a mandible injury. He has been shifted to SKIMS.

The second injured person was identified as Rafiq Ahmad Dar, who seemingly has pellet injuries in his eyes. The hospital has shifted him to SMHS hospital in Srinagar.

The third injured, whose name was not immediately ascertained is stable and is being treated in the district hospital.

“They have injuries but are stable,” a senior doctor from the district hospital said.

Doctors attending the patients said they had no details about how they were injured.

Police sources said the trio were in a car (JKO2W- 4989) when they were fired from an army naka in the outskirts of Drabgam village. Police said they are on the job to collect more information. They identified the third young man as Umar Ashraf Wani who has received mild injuries, probably because of the broken glasses of the car. It was not immediately known if they were signaled to stop before they were fired upon. Two of them have received bullet injuries. One report said they were travelling in a Tata Sumo but another report said it was an Alto Car.

A report said they had jumped the check post and skipped the halt signal.
